MCFR announces the debut of their new radio advertisement
“What is a Marymander?”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Towson (May 18, 2012) – Marylanders for Coherent & Fair Representation, Inc. (MCFR) announces the debut of their radio advertisement “What is a Marymander?”

Tony Campbell, President of MCFR made the following statement about the 60 second radio advertisement, “We wanted to put together an informative radio ad that would explain the negative impact of gerrymandering in an entertaining way.  The original gerrymander was illustrated in a local Boston paper as looking like a salamander.  The 3rd Congressional District looks like a salamander, attached to a snake that is connected in Baltimore City by a single block on Belair Road.  We are thrilled that WCBM’s Tom Marr has agreed to record the spot for MCFR.”

Campbell continued,   The Marymander describes the oddly shaped districts designed by Governor O’Malley and approved by the General Assembly.  The voters of Maryland, through the Constitution of Maryland, have the right to Repeal O’Malley’s Map if we are successful in getting the necessary 55,736 signatures by June 30th.

The Marymander ad will be played on "The Tom Marr Show" on AM 680 WCBM from Monday, May 21st though Friday, May 25th.  "The Tom Marr Show" airs from 9 a.m. to 12 noon daily.  An copy of the ad can be heard through the media player below:
